AT A GLANCE

Belotero Balance (+) is a hyaluronic acid filler approved for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and for hollows beneath the eyes in adults over 21. Paz Dermatology offers Belotero at its Fresno and Visalia, California offices. Results can last up to 18 months.

Softer lines, less tired eyes

Belotero Balance (+) is a smooth hyaluronic acid gel. It’s approved for two things: smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, like smile lines, and adding volume beneath the eyes to improve a hollow, sunken look.[1]

Hollow under-eyes can make you look exhausted even after a good night’s sleep. Filling that hollow softens the shadow it casts, and you look like yourself on a well-rested day.

What you can change

  • Hollows and shadows under the eyes
  • Smile lines from nose to mouth
  • Other moderate to severe facial lines
  • Up to 18 monthsHow long Belotero Balance (+) results can last.[1]

Your Belotero appointment

  1. Look closely We look at the under-eye area and your lines in good light, and plan where a little gel will make the most difference.
  2. Comfort Belotero Balance (+) contains lidocaine, a numbing medicine, so the treatment gets more comfortable as it goes.[1]
  3. The treatment Your provider places small amounts, checking the result as they go. Under-eyes take a delicate, careful hand.
  4. Out the door You’ll see the difference right away. Swelling or bruising is common, and most side effects resolve within one to four weeks.[1]
  • 2 approvalsFacial wrinkles and folds, and hollows beneath the eyes.[1]

Why under-eyes need a light touch

The skin under the eyes is thin, and too much filler there shows. That’s why under-eye treatment is about restraint: a small amount, placed well, softens a hollow without puffiness.

What it helpsWhat it doesn’t change
Under-eye hollowsThe sunken look and the shadow it casts[1]Dark color from pigment in the skin
Smile linesDeep creases from nose to mouth[1]Lines that only show when you move

Lines that show only when you move usually respond better to Botox. We’ll tell you which treatment fits each concern.

The Paz difference

Restraint, where it matters most

Under-eyes reward a careful plan and a light hand. We place a little at a time, check the result in good light, and stop while it still looks natural. You can always add more at a follow-up.

And because you’re in a dermatology practice, your plan can include more than filler. If another treatment would do more for you, you’ll hear about it at your free consultation.

Is Belotero right for you?

You’re likely a good fit if you:

  • Have hollows under your eyes that make you look tired
  • Have smile lines or other facial lines that bother you
  • Are over 21[1]

Tell us before your appointment if you:

  • Have severe allergies with a history of anaphylaxis[1]
  • Are allergic to lidocaine or similar numbing medicines[1]
  • Tend to form large scars or keloids[1]
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

After your appointment

Most people go straight back to their day. Swelling, bruising, redness, pain or tenderness, firmness, itching and small lumps are the common side effects, and most resolve within one to four weeks.[1]

For the first day or two

  • Use a cold pack for swelling
  • Sleep with your head slightly raised the first night
  • Skip strenuous exercise until the next day

Serious problems are rare. The one that matters most is filler entering a blood vessel, which can affect vision or cause scarring.[1] Call us right away if an area turns pale, dusky or very painful, or if your vision changes.

Belotero questions, answered

It helps when the darkness comes from a hollow that casts a shadow. It won’t change dark color that comes from pigment in the skin. We’ll tell you which you have.
