Carlos Paz MD, PhD
Dr. Carlos Paz is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon. He received his bachelors of science degree from Yale and both his MD and PhD degrees from Harvard. Following an internship in General Surgery at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Dr. Paz completed residency in dermatology at the University of Chicago, and then pursued specialized training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, lasers, and cosmetic surgery in Miami, Florida. He completed an ACGME-approved Procedural Dermatology fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Eli Saleeby, a Mohs Surgeon who trained directly with Dr. Fredrick Mohs, the physician for whom Mohs Micrographic Surgery is named. During his fellowship, Dr. Paz also gained extensive experience in various cosmetic procedures including liposuction, hair transplantation, mini face-lifts, blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery), sclerotherapy (vein treatment), and the use of lasers, Botox, and fillers. Dr. Paz has also received specialized training by Dr. Jeffrey Klein, the physician who invented the Tumescent Liposuction method.
Dr. Paz has published numerous journal articles, written book chapters, and given presentations at national meetings. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American College of Mohs Surgery, and is a member of the California Medical Association and the Fresno-Madera Medical Society.
Dr. Paz enjoys traveling, fishing, reading, and art collecting. He and his wife, Vivian, are natives of Fresno County.
Betsy Billys, MD
Dr. Betsy Billys is board-certified in dermatology and in internal medicine. She has been serving the dermatological needs of the south valley since 1990. She received her medical degrees and training from Texas Southwestern University and Duke University and her bachelors of arts degree from the University of Kansas. Dr. Billys has extensive experience in general and cosmetic dermatology. She was one of the original investigators demonstrating the anti-aging effects of Retin A. By mixing general and cosmetic dermatology, she can focus on treating men, women and children of all skin types and diagnoses.
Dr. Billys is also committed to public service. She serves on the Committee of Young Life of Tulare County and a former board member of Family Services of Tulare County. She has served on several medical outreach missions, including health missions in Honduras.
Melissa Manriques, FNP-C
Melissa Manriques is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She is a graduate of California State University, Fresno with a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Nursing. Melissa is a vital part of our team and loves working with our patients on an individual basis and educating them about skincare regimens that promote optimal skin health. She is a member of The American Academy of Dermatology. Melissa enjoys fitness and spending time and sports activities with her three sons and husband.
Gabriel Zapata, PA-C
Gabriel Zapata is a board-certified Physician Assistant at Paz Dermatology. He is a graduate of California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Masters of Medical Sciences from Saint Francis University of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomat Fellow of The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Gabriel enjoys music, boating and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Rhonda Bonilla, FNP-C
Rhonda Bonilla is a board-certified nurse practitioner at our Visalia office. She received a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing and Masters in Nursing from California State University, Fresno. She has 13 years of medical and cosmetic dermatology experience. She enjoys reading, traveling, doing mission work in Honduras, and spending time with her husband, son and daughter.
